The Formal Diagnosis
Ok, like I said the pain in my right hip was so great I decided to have it looked at. I called my primary care doctor to get the prescription for an MRI and had it done on Friday, March 25, 2011. Just as I suspected, hip problem. The formal diagnosis is Avascular Necrosis or osteonecrosis, both meaning death to the hip. Apparantly when I feel on the ice, I injured the hip and it inturrepted the blood flow to the femar head of the hip. When blood flow to a joint such as a hip is compromised the hip begins to die. This condition does not heal itself and there is no remedy other than eventual surgery.
