The Formal Diagnosis

Ok, like I said the pain in my right hip was so great I decided to have it looked at.  I called my primary care doctor to get the prescription for an MRI and had it done on Friday, March 25, 2011.  Just as I suspected, hip problem.  The formal diagnosis is Avascular Necrosis or osteonecrosis, both meaning death to the hip.  Apparantly when I feel on the ice, I injured the hip and it inturrepted the blood flow to the femar head of the hip.  When blood flow to a joint such as a hip is compromised the hip begins to die.  This condition does not heal itself and there is no remedy other than eventual surgery.

December 2010 Hips begins to hurt

So, I moved in December right after my last final exam.  I had movers but you know how that goes, there are still a million little things that need to be moved or that you don't want the movers to handle for whatever reason.
After the move was over and I had everything put away, my hip began to hurt non stop.  I told my doctor about it and he wanted me to have an MRI right away but due to school I decided to put it off to a more convenient time.  Well the constant and continual pain came before a convenient time to see an orthopaedic doctor.
The pain was so great on some days, I could not walk.  I have begun using my cain again to help keep weight off of the right side where the hip hurts the most.

When this all began

I had to go to Pennsylvania in March of 2010 during Spring break to help my mother conduct some family business.  The weather was cold with freezing temperatures and there was snow and ice on the ground.  I drove my mother to the attorney's office and dropped her off at the door to make sure she did not slip and fall.  I went around the corner and parked the car and wanted to hurry around the corner to meet my mother who was waiting for me.  I jogged down the sidewalk to the corner and attempted to turn to the right, as I did I felt my feet beging to slip on the ice, and I went down.  Many of you don't know it, but I had spinal surgery 2 years ago, and to avoid falling on my back and harming myself, I turned to fall on my side and when I did my hip hit the hard cement and I hurt myself.  I sprained my wrist and cut up my hand and knee.  At this point the hip showed now signs of being damaged
